Eating Out in Marche – Some of our favourite restaurants

Our passion for great food and wine here at Villa Sibillini takes us to many local restaurants, and to others a little further afield.  Le Marche has some stunning restaurants, with varying menus, some simple and traditional and others with a Michelin star.  The food in Marche, we think is hard to beat from wonderful locally produced and reared meat and game to the freshest fish straight from the Adriatic Sea.

We would like to share with you some of our particular favourite great restaurants, which we will add to along the passage of time.  Please do let us know if you find somewhere a little different and we will add it to our list.  See our restaurant page for a little more on the speciality dishes of Le Marche http://www.villasibillini.com/cuisine/index.asp

San Ginesio
Terranostra
A simple pizzeria, also serving pasta and meats. Good prices and great in summer months when you can eat outside and watch the World go by

Passo San Ginesio                                                                                                                                 Isolina                                                                                                                                                        Traditional Marche fayre, great affitatto misto, pastas and grilled meats, economoical as well

Urbisaglia
La Logge
Romantic setting, ambient and a stunningly different menu, friendly family run. Better to prebook

Loro Piceno
Taverna di Loro
Opened recently with a good, daily changing menu. Great atmosphere and open wed, thur, fri, sat. Prebook

Luana
Typical Marchigiane food, very popular at lunchtime with the locals

Girrarosto
Succulent griddled meats and a good setting although cavernous if you are a small party

Sarnano
Osteria Scherza Party
On the way to Sassotetto, this family run restaurant serves delicious pasta and local meats

Ripe San Ginesio
La Antica Aprodo
Large restaurant, good simple menu to include pizza. Good for youngsters and large groups

Gabella Nuova
Il Colle
Quaint pizzeria, also serving meats and pastas – simple food, well priced

Belforte del Chienti                                                                                                                               Chiaro Scuro                                                                                                                                           Modern building with excellent food (fish and meat), ask for a table in one of the private dining areas if you prefer a more intimate setting

Serrapetrona
Osteria Borghiana
Open fri, sat and sun lunch, you can choose from a small menu or the 7 course selection if your appetite is up to it

Numana
La Torre
Set on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the marina and with views across to Loreto, you couldn’t wish for a better position. This is a chic restaurant that serves in our opinion, some of the best fish dishes of the Region. They also have a chocolate pudding to die for! A spectacular restaurant and our top tip for any special occasion, take coffee and liquers at their American Bar on the roof.

Portonovo
La Capannina
Another family resort set right on the beach at this fabulous resort, there is an extensive fish menu and a very good wine list. A great place to watch the many windsurfers that arrive during lunch.

Il Fortino Napoleonico
For something really special, book in for dinner in this restored Napoleonic fort, again on the beach. The yellow fin tuna starter is a must.

Ancona
Strabacco’s
Right in the middle of Ancona, Strabacco’s is set over three floors, really atmospheric and serving the best T bone steaks. Extensive menu and wine list. Our favourite winter haunt.

Il Giardino
Always full of Italians, this restaurant serves some more unusual pasta dishes and has a large selection of dishes

Senigallia
Madonnina del Pescatore
Specialising in fish, a truly amazing experience. Michelin starred

Montecarotto
Le Busche
Born in Jesi, the chef, Andrea Angeletti provides a ‘Degustazione di Mare’ with 3 antipasti, 2 primi, 1 secondo and dolce. There are many delights at this restaurant, our tip – try the lobster! For more information see the web site: http://www.lebusche.net. Michelin starred
