Le Marche has some stunning restaurants, with varying menus, some simple and traditional and others with a Michelin star. The food in Marche, we think is hard to beat from wonderful locally produced and reared meat and game to the freshest fish straight from the Adriatic Sea. San Ginesio Terranostra A simple pizzeria, also serving pasta and meats. Good prices and great in summer months when you can eat outside and watch the World go by Passo San Ginesio Isolina Traditional Marche fayre, great affitatto misto, pastas and grilled meats, economoical as well
Urbisaglia La Logge Romantic setting, ambient and a stunningly different menu, friendly family run. Better to prebook
Loro Piceno Taverna di Loro Opened recently with a good, daily changing menu. Great atmosphere and open wed, thur, fri, sat. Prebook
Luana Typical Marchigiane food, very popular at lunchtime with the locals
Girrarosto Succulent griddled meats and a good setting although cavernous if you are a small party
Sarnano Osteria Scherza Party On the way to Sassotetto, this family run restaurant serves delicious pasta and local meats
Ripe San Ginesio La Antica Aprodo Large restaurant, good simple menu to include pizza. Good for youngsters and large groups
Gabella Nuova Il Colle Quaint pizzeria, also serving meats and pastas – simple food, well priced
Belforte del Chienti Chiaro Scuro Modern building with excellent food (fish and meat), ask for a table in one of the private dining areas if you prefer a more intimate setting Serrapetrona Osteria Borghiana Open fri, sat and sun lunch, you can choose from a small menu or the 7 course selection if your appetite is up to it
Numana La Torre Set on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the marina and with views across to Loreto, you couldn’t wish for a better position. This is a chic restaurant that serves in our opinion, some of the best fish dishes of the Region. They also have a chocolate pudding to die for! A spectacular restaurant and our top tip for any special occasion, take coffee and liquers at their American Bar on the roof.
Portonovo La Capannina Another family resort set right on the beach at this fabulous resort, there is an extensive fish menu and a very good wine list. A great place to watch the many windsurfers that arrive during lunch.
Il Fortino Napoleonico For something really special, book in for dinner in this restored Napoleonic fort, again on the beach. The yellow fin tuna starter is a must.
Ancona Strabacco’s Right in the middle of Ancona, Strabacco’s is set over three floors, really atmospheric and serving the best T bone steaks. Extensive menu and wine list. Our favourite winter haunt.
Il Giardino Always full of Italians, this restaurant serves some more unusual pasta dishes and has a large selection of dishes
Senigallia Madonnina del Pescatore Specialising in fish, a truly amazing experience. Michelin starred
