Accommodation at Villa Sibillini Country House, Marche
The imposing yellow – painted, three storeys of our old farmhouse can be seen from the road to Tolentino. Set on a steep hillside, surrounded by our own fruit and nut trees, and even a small wood, Villa Sibillini provides a wonderful place to relax. Surrounding fields are host to carpets of poppies in May, followed by glittering fire flies in June, before the sunflowers appear through July and August. There’s always something to see throughout the changing seasons, with busy farmers tending their fields, birds of prey soaring above, or you may even be lucky enough to see swallows diving over the pool in the early evening. Sunsets are unreal and the colour of the sky some days looks as if it was painted by Rafael.
The town of San Ginesio is a charming place to stay, steeped in history and just five minutes from the villa. The accommodation in Le Marche has much to offer generally with something for everyone - from a bed and breakfast to a chic retreat or an agriturismo to a boutique hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing break with warm hospitality, our country house has delightful rooms, comfortable beds as well as great food and wine. See the ultimate villa rental (please make link to appropriate place below) section of this site for a unique experience of villa rental in Le Marche.
There is much to see and do with many other historic towns – Sarnano with its restored centro storico, Tolentino with its churches, Macerata for the opera and Caldarola’s castle. A long weekend in Marche is sometimes not enough and many of our guests return again and again.
Set just of the road to Tolentino the villa is approached along a white road, when you see the yellow painted garden wall, drive through the gates and into our car park. The arched entrance leads you past the herb garden to the front door of the villa.
The Grounds and Garden
There are shady porticos for those not wishing to indulge in sunbathing, or decks surrounding the pool for the sun lovers. The garden is very peaceful with wonderful views and there are tables, chairs, sun loungers and hammocks dotted around, giving plenty of seating. Our villa’s pool has exceptional views across the valley to the Sibillini mountains and provides a welcome place to cool off during the long, hot summer days.
Parking
Our large, gravelled car park can take in excess of 20 cars and is situated at the rear of the property.
Lounge and Dining Room
This spacious room runs the full width of the villa, simply furnished with doors opening onto the outside terrace and bar, where you can take advantage of the stunning views across the garden to the mountains. Meals are served al fresco as the spring and long summer days emerge, and our daily changing menu reflects the best local produce and wines, along with the most delicious tastes of Le Marche. We are always happy to provide early teas for youngsters and we can provide a high chair, just let us know.
Our intimate restaurant seats some twenty diners with more seating on the terrace. See this link for our current menu.
The current lounge is part of the restaurant, but work on a separate area will begin in autumn 2007.
